National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NCMHD)

In 2005, the Institute received a research grant from the National Center on Minority Health and Health Disparities to determine the impact of its faith-based health initiative. The study evaluates the impact of a faith-based intervention to improve the health of participating community members at risk for diabetes. Specifically, the study assesses changes in knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors; evaluates the impact of the program on church programs and policies; and identifies best practices for faith-based programs designed to address health disparities.
