Family Medicine: A Vision for the Future
This address was delivered to the New York State Academy of Family Physicians on the occasion of Dr. Neil Calman's completion of his term as President in June 1998. It reflects upon the need for family physicians to adapt to the rapid changes in medical knowledge and technology. It goes on to encourage the work of family physicians in serving those in need and suggests that a single-payer system of health care financing and universal coverage are essential elements we must work to implement in the United States.
