Hirenkumar
Italia, MD
Chief Resident
Dr.Italia
was born in Gujrat, India and received his medical degree
from B.J.Medical College, Ahmedabad, India. After Graduation
from medical school, he completed a Certificate course of
Diploma in Family Medicine at Hyderabad, India affiliated
with RCGP, UK. . He was a Research Associate at J H Stroger
Hospital Jr Hospital-Cook County, Chicago, IL. He is member
of Commission on Leadership with NYSAFP and has established
a residency chapter with NYSAFP. In his spare free time,
he likes to play chess, table tennis and going for walks.
Hiren is Co-Chief Resident Elect and plans on operating
an obesity clinic after graduating.

Sashenka
Jean-Charles, MD
Chief Resident
Dr. Jean-Charles was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and received
her medical degree from the Medical school in Haiti in the
Caribbean. She was involved in increasing teen awareness
of HIV when she was in medical school. She has also worked
with people who are mentally disabled and taught Sunday
school. Her special interest include educating and working
with underserved populations and adolescents. She loves
playing the piano, reading and spending time with family
and friends. Sashenka is Co-Chief Resident Elect.

Afron
Alphonso, MD
Dr.Alphonso was born in Bombay- India and grew up inn the
lovely, coastal state of Goa in India .He graduated from
Goa Medical College in 1993 & then completed his post-graduation
in Public Health. He represented his college in soccer,
hockey & volleyball, which continue to be his favorite
games. Finance & investments are his other interests.
During his free time he enjoys watching movies. Afron plans
to do a fellowship in geriatrics after graduating from residency.

Elisa
Chan , MD
Dr.Chan
grew up in Shangai, China and received her medical degree
from St. Matthews' University at Cayman Islands. She joined
our Program as a second year resident having successfully
completed her internship year at UHS/Wilson Hospital, Johnson
City; NY She has a Masters in Business Administration from
Northwest Missouri State University. and is also licensed
as a CPA in Washington State. Elisa likes to spent time
with her family and travel. She plans on joining an outpatient
practice after graduating

Kaczor, MD
Dr.Kaczor
attended medical school at Poznan University of Medical
Sciences in Poland. He enjoys trail running, NYC real estate
investing, marketing, business, and watching movies. He
hopes to complete a fellowship either in dermatology, hospice
palliative care or geriatrics after graduating from residency.

Kundur, MD
Dr,Kundur grew up in Warangal, Andhra Pradesh, India and
received her medical degree from Kakatiya Medical College.
She enjoys doing handcrafts and spending time with my daughter.
She plans on working in an outpatient clinic after graduation.

Singh, MD
Dr.Singh
was born in Punjab, India. He received his medical degree
from the Guru Govind Singh Medical College and Hospital
in Punjab, India. His hobbies include visiting new places,
playing tennis and lots and lots of reading.

Richard
Carlino , MD
Dr.Carlino was born and raised
in NYC and graduated from St. George's University, School
of Medicine .He completed his clinical training at Jamaica
Hospital in Queens, NYC and has a background in research
at Columbia University Medical Center in NYC. Richard
feels that the Kingston FP residency is a program that
provides a good balance between Inpatient/Outpatient management
and teaching. The wide coverage area encompasses a diverse
range of patients with complex co morbidities. Another
crucial aspect is the accessibility of the third year
residents to assist, especially in the first couple of
intern months.
Richard is still undecided about his path after residency.
He can envision himself going into general practice, working
as a hospitalist, involvement in research and academics
or even a fellowship.

Keyur
Chauhan, MD
Dr.Chauhan was born and in Ahmedabad, India and
is a graduate of Government Medical College, Surat, India.
Keyur firmly believes that the residency program and Kingston
hospital have an excellent healthcare team that provides
an exceptional learning experience.The program's strengths
include its clear emphasis on continuity of care and its
unparalleled commitment of serving at-risk and underserved
population.
Keyur loves to explore new places, spend time with his
family, and enjoys outdoor activities.

Chris
Harper , MD
Dr.
Harper received his medical degree from the University
of Poznan Medical Sciences in Poland .He is a graduate
of San Diego State University with a degree in computer
science. As a member of The Association of American Indian
Physicians (Lower Brule Sioux), Chris feels privileged
to be able to help those who are in need of medical help
in the Kingston area. He believes that The Mid-Hudson
Family Medicine Program is truly a program made for future
doctors who love medicine for the sake of helping people
who are underprivileged and underserved in our society.
In his free time, Dr.Harper likes spending time with his
family and friends, cycling, playing badminton.

Lisa
Sahai, MD
Dr.Sahai grew up in Sea
Cliff, New York and received her medical degree from American
University of the Caribbean in Saint Maarten. She has
a Masters in Science from AUC and has a degree as a Medical
Technologist, MT (ASCP) from George Washington University
School of Medicine and Allied Health. Lisa is also a Certified
Phlebotomist, Home Health Aide, and Patient Care Assistant
Lisa has a diverse work experience as well as volunteerism.
She enjoys that she is able to learn from a broad array
of hospital cases similar to an urban setting, in a suburban
environment. She feels that the program allows her to
integrate her knowledge base with ease, as it is customary
to interact with numerous disciplines on an everyday professional
basis.
She enjoys spending time with her husband and family and
plans to pursue a fellowship in Geriatrics and to work
for the Indian Health Service.

Kavitha
Kayathi, MD
Dr.Kayathi grew up in Hyderabad,
India and received her medical degree from Osmania Medical
College, Hyderabad, India. She has been involved in research.
Kavitha feels that the Mid-Hudson Family Practice Program
is a community program with a friendly environment and
strong emphasis on teaching and preventive care.
Her hobbies include cooking, music and she likes to spend
time with her family.

Parth
Shah, MD, MPH
Dr.Shah
was born and grew up in Mumbai, India. He received his
medical degree from Padma Shree D.Y. Patil Medical College
of Mumbai, India. He also has a Masters in Public Health
from Texas A & M, College Station, and is actively
involved in research and GME Committee meetings. Parth
likes the fact that the Residency program has committed
and supporting faculty and fellow residents and feels
that practicing evidence based medicine, keeping pace
with the Electronic Health System, and the dynamic nature
of the hospital's infrastructure are its strong points.

Shean
Barrett , MD
Dr.Barrett was born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica and
eventually spent the latter years in New York. He completed
his undergraduate degree at the University of Rochester and
pursed his medical training at the American University of
Antigua College of Medicine. Shean has worked as a volunteer
in the Hope for Kids program, which helps children of refugees
and immigrants gain access to health care. This has helped
him understand the benefits of emphasizing preventive and
consistent primary care; and promoted his belief in affordable
access to healthcare. Shean believes that the Mid-Hudson Family
Medicine Residency program provides exposure to diverse populations
and offers solid didactic training. Shean enjoy spending time
with family, cooking, running, and playing tennis. As a physician
he hopes to provide excellent comprehensive care to his patients,
be a source of community leadership, and an advocate for under-served
populations. |

Seth
Camhi, MD
Dr.Camhi grew up on Long Island in Jericho, New
York. He attended Universidad Autonoma De Guadalajara and
then completed the Fifth Pathway Program at New York Medical
College. Seth also has an MBA in Health Administration and
has been involved in many different Health Care Consulting
Projects. Seth enjoys spending time with his family, playing
golf, watching sports either on TV or in person (especially
football), movies, and traveling. He is not quite sure yet
of his future plans but would like to use both his Medical
and Administrative background together in some capacity. |

Wesley
Ho, MD
Dr.Ho was born in Hong Kong and subsequently immigrated
to Albany NY. He received his Medical degree from St. George's
University School of Medicine. The emphasis and commitment
on continuity care, and the focus on community care with many
outreach programs, at the Mid Hudson residency program is
exactly what Wesley was looking for in residency training.
Wesley likes to play soccer, travel, camp and hike. His long
tern goals are to work in a multidisciplinary practice medical
home with a holistic approach, to provide health and wellness
maintenance to those in need. |

Yvenalie
Laurent, MD
Dr. Laurent was born in Haiti and immigrated to
New York during her adolescent years. She completed her medical
training at Ross University School of Medicine. She has also
taught special education and main stream classes at an elementary
school in New York, and did an internship at a Family Practice
clinic for approximately a year. For many years Yvenalie has
volunteered her time on the weekends as a community leader
and helped in distribution of food at a community pantry.
During her free time, Yve enjoyes cooking, expanding her unique
coin collection, reading and teaching. She is interested in
completing a fellowship in Women's Health after graduation. |

Bobbie
NaKole Thompson, MD
Dr. Thompson was born in Denver Colorado. She attended
Medical School at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara
and completed the Fifth Pathway Program through New York Medical
College at The Kingston Hospital. Bobby has worked as a volunteer
for the James Methodist Church's Food Pantry, Homeless Shelter,
Crisis Hotline, The Drop-in Center (counseling) and as a GED
Tutor. She likes the community in which the Residency Program
is located and the one on one attention that is offered by
the attendings. Bobby loves white water rafting, rock climbing,
bike riding, traveling gardening, hiking, reading, going to
the ballet and skiing. After graduation, she would like to
practice in a small community, open an elderly day care center
and volunteer on a few Native American reservations. |

Giovanni
Velez, MD
Dr.Velez was born in Moca, Puerto Rico and lived
there until the age of 8 before immigrating to Orlando, FL
where his immediate family still resides. He attended Medical
School at the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara and completed
the Fifth Pathway Program through New York Medical College
at The Kingston Hospital. During his rotations at Kingston
Hospital, he had the pleasure of rotating with the residents
from this program whom, he found to be all friendly and always
willing to help and teach. In his spare time Giovanni enjoy
spending time with family and going to the movies |
