Staff Psychiatrist
WeCARE Clinic
Requirements: Board Certified in Psychiatry; NYS Medical License. Two (2) years of experience in a clinical setting. Knowledge of New York State Disability System preferred. Experience with disabled population in a healthcare setting preferred; registered by Drug Enforcement Administration with current Controlled Substances Registration Certificates. Bi-lingual, English/Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities:
To work as part of an interdisciplinary team providing consultation and supervision in a collaborative effort to assess WeCARE clients for depression or other mental health conditions. Psychiatrist serves as Phase 2 Physician, providing Phase 1 Physician with expert opinion and recommendation on participant’s psychological status and needs.

Experience with the geriatric population in a healthcare setting, preferred. Demonstrated research experience, preferred. Bi-lingual, English/ Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities: Complete a disability determination based structured clinical interview and document visit in electronic medical record. Complete required disability determination documentations; Provide consultation to members of disability determination team. Remain up to date on changes in disability determination and eligibility. Participate in regularly scheduled meetings. Facilitate disability determinations for all patients. Assist with quality assurance activities for the program, department, and agency. Conduct educational sessions and/or assist in training new staff. Provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in assessment.

Requirements: MSW with New York State Certification. Demonstrated medical social work experience preferred. LCSW required. Strong diagnostic and clinical skills. Bilingual Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities: Assist individuals, families and communities with psychosocial and environmental stressors, which influence the functioning of these systems, and interfere with obtaining maximum benefits from medical care and other resources available to them. Participates in the education of primary care professionals and Social Work students. Provides diagnostic assessments over mental health service for patients and their families. |
