Medical Assistant (Floater)
Ali Forney Center/ Phillips Family Practice (both in Manhattan)
Requirements: HS Diploma or GED required. Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant school required. Current BCLS required. Certificate as a Phlebotomist or EKG technician preferred. Minimum of one year experience working as a Medical Assistant required. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills required. Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
Responsibilities: Screen and prepare patients to be seen by the doctor. Demonstrated competence in auditory and visual testing, EKG, venipuncture, and taking vitals. Demonstrated basic computer skills including typing required.
Medical Technician (2 positions)
WeCARE Clinic
Requirements: HS Diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 year experience as a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant; certification from an accredited Medical Assistant school. Competence in auditory and visual testing, EKG, venipuncture, glucose testing and vital signs. Demonstrate basic computer skills and the ability to work independently. Bi-lingual Spanish required
Responsibilities: Interview participants regarding their medical and social history and enter data into the EMR. Collect blood and urine specimens, label vials, prepare request slips and package sample for lab. Perform eletrocardiograms, conduct vision screenings and perform blood glucose monitoring. Assist physicians with assessments.
Dental Assistant

Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Dental Assistant Certification preferred. Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting preferred, family practice setting a plus. Demonstrate basic computer, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Bi-lingual Spanish required.
Responsibilities: Will assist the dentist in the clinical care of patients. Responsibilities include but not limited to preparing exam rooms, preparing instruments and materials and monitoring and updating charts.
Dispensary Technician
Psychosocial Services
Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. Pharmacy technician certificate or equivalent experience. Strong communications skills, understanding of medical terminology and calculations. Knowledge of medication brand and generic names.
Knowledge of insurance and third-party payment systems. Demonstrate basic computer skills including typing speed of 35 words per minute required. Bi-Lingual preferred.
Responsibilities: Dispense prescription medications under direct supervision, in accordance with local, state, federal, and company regulations. Create and update patient’s health and insurance information. Enter prescription orders. Ensure patient’s eligibility for 340 B Program and other pharmacy programs. Communicate with insurance carriers to obtain payment for prescription claims and verify paperwork associated with medication orders and store records appropriately. Monitor inventory stock for expiration dates and returns expired medications to contracted pharmacy.
