Interns and Volunteers

There are many opportunities to volunteer or become an intern at the Institute. There are year-round opportunities through our health centers, our social services department and with our public health programs. The various opportunities are described below.

Summer Internships and Academic Year Internships in Health Care
Our AHECs (Area Health Education Centers) offer summer internships for medical students in their 1st and 2nd year, public health students, and high school students who would like to experience the health care environment. Students are placed at health centers and hospitals where they work directly with professional staff, attend seminars, and assist with research or special projects.

To apply: There is an application and information about AHEC and how to apply in our health professions section.
