To be eligible for the NERA MedPrep Program, an applicant must:
- Be a resident of one of the five boroughs of New York City, Long Island, Westchester county, or New Jersey;
- Be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident. This is a non-residential program. (Please keep in mind that classes may start as early as 8:00 am.)
- Be a college freshman or sophomore; residents of New York City can also apply during their senior year of high school;
- Be in good academic standing;
- New Jersey residents only: Have completed college chemistry (I, II or both) and English composition (I, II or both)
The MedPrep program is an alliance between the Manhattan-Staten Island AHEC (Area Health Education Center), Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Mount Sinai School of Medicine, and the New Jersey Medical School Office of Special Programs.
