Steven Levine, MD, AAHIVS
Lower Manhattan Regional Director
As the Regional Medical Director for Manhattan, Dr. Levine oversees all clinical programs at the Institute’s four Manhattan health centers. Dr. Levine is board certified in internal medicine, and is an HIV specialist and acupuncturist.
Prior to joining the Institute, Dr. Levine served as the medical director of the Mount Vernon Neighborhood Health Center for more than 18 years. During that time he developed the Health Initiative for Men (H.I.M.). The H.I.M. Program focused on educating men about men’s health issues. Dr. Levine serves on the advisory board for the Men’s Health Network, and frequently lectures on men’s health topics. Dr. Levine also was a clinical assistant professor at New York Medical College, where he served as a seminar leader in the introduction to primary care course for first year medical students.
Dr. Levine received his medical degree from the Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara. He completed his residency in internal medicine at New Rochelle Hospital Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident. He received his training in acupuncture at New York Medical College. Dr. Levine is an advanced cardiovascular life support and basic life support instructor.
