Eric Gayle, MD, FAAFP

Regional Medical Director, Bronx

As regional medical director for the Bronx, Dr. Gayle oversees medical services for the Institute’s five Bronx health centers.

Dr. Gayle began his career at the Institute at its Beth Israel Residency in Urban Family Health, where he was chief resident. After completing his training, Dr. Gayle joined the Institute’s Parkchester Family Practice in 1998, and in 2000 became the center’s medical director. In 2006, he became regional medical director for the Bronx. Dr. Gayle also mentors minority students who are interested in careers in medicine, and leads the Institute’s credentialing committee.

Dr. Gayle is a graduate of the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City College of New York, where he completed a combined BS/MD program. He completed his medical degree at Mount Sinai Medical School. Dr. Gayle also completed a fellowship in faculty development at the Institute and assisted in the development of the sports medicine curriculum for the Beth Israel Residency Program. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice.
